A chat interface using LLM is the new standard. It can be used not just for getting trivial or publicly available information but also work with our company data to retrieve value out of it using language instead of typical and much more technical SQL language. In this talk we will delve into how AI agents can be leveraged to convert natural language queries into SQL and other programming languages code to make data analysis more accessible and less dependent on technical expertise. The presentation will also address the challenges of security in any type of LLM based systems. We will demonstrate how AI can bring value to your company but also what are the risks that could destroy it. Overall, during the talk we show where we are, the current challenges, and future ideas.

Workshop

In this interactive workshop, Joel Bradley, Innovation Director and Co-Founder of UK consultancy Marcellins, will take a deeper dive into AI’s role in creativity and innovation. Participants will engage in practical exercises to explore how and when AI-generated information is truly valuable in the creative process. Joel will guide attendees through his „Heartbeat Innovation” methodology, offering hands-on experience in balancing AI capabilities with human insight. Expect to walk away with actionable techniques for integrating AI into your innovation workflow. Joel will be joining us from the UK.

Networking meetings

12:35 - 13:00

Business case

This talk details the real-world journey of developing an AI-powered sign language interpreter. It covers the entire process, from initial concept to final deployment on Azure. The narrative focuses on practical challenges encountered in dataset collection and curation, the development of effective evaluation methods, and the insights gained from testing different AI architectures. It explains the reasoning behind key decisions in custom model development and the steps taken to optimize performance. The talk concludes with a breakdown of the deployment process, highlighting the considerations for scaling the solution in a cloud environment. Throughout, it emphasizes lessons learned from hands-on experience, providing a realistic view of the complexities involved in bringing automated sign language interpretation to life.

The presentation will explore real-world examples and systems that leverage LLM and RAG architectures to solve business problems. It will also cover considerations like cost estimation, model selection based on client requirements, and challenges associated with implementing AI solutions in various companies. Additionally, the presentation will feature code snippets that demonstrate how to implement tasks like classification, entity extraction, semantic search, RAG using Microsoft’s SemanticKernel and KernelMemory frameworks within a .NET environment.

Business case

The presentation explores the critical balance between artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and data protection, emphasizing the importance of privacy, transparency, and security in AI development. It covers key challenges like bias, data misuse, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR, while also highlighting emerging solutions like differential privacy and ethical AI frameworks to ensure a responsible future for AI.

In this session, speaker would use the metaphors of GenAI solutions as “cats”, “dogs”, “mushrooms”, and “orchids” to highlight four challenges that we’ve encountered when developing GenAI-based chatbots and copilots in ABB – and the ways in which they’ve worked to address those challenges. The overall message is that developing a GenAI solution isn’t like engineering a “traditional” deterministic software solution (e.g., a database or website). Rather, it’s more like incorporating unpredictable living agents into your organization.

Technical case

Today’s architectures of systems leveraging LLMs almost always incorporate RAG and increasingly rely on (multi)-agents. While prototyping these solutions has become relatively straightforward, moving beyond the DEMO/PoC phase proves to be a gigantic challenge and a bumpy road. Pre-RAG agents, hierarchical indexes, knowledge graphs, agentic data retrieval, multivector embeddings, data augmentation, query decomposition, conversational agents vs agentic flows, cross-encoders, VLMs, multi-agent orchestration patterns, LLM Compiler, fine-tuning, and the role of SLMs – these are just some of the topics that will be covered during this hyper-speed, no-bullshit session. Bartek will share hard-earned insights from 18 months of building production-grade multi-agent systems for major global clients.

In this presentation I want to present practical aspects of machine vision implementations from the point of view of a business analyst and manager, focusing on the applications, profitability and purposefulness of using machine vision in industry, medicine, sports and many other industries.
